The Bedford County Arts Center offers monthly exhibits in the historic Anderson House, a graceful 18th century building on Bedford’s main street. There are also workshops for kids and adults as well as occasional presentations, coffee houses and musical performances.
Fine art and handcrafted items by local artists and craftfolk—paintings, prints, pottery and photographs, woodcarvings, books on local history and coloring books of covered bridges, greeting cards and notecards, tees and sweatshirts, glass and metal work, soft sculpture, dreamcatchers, papercuttings, and one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry.
ADMISSION FREE OPEN: Tuesday-Thursday 11am-5pm; Friday-Saturday 11am-7pm, Sunday noon-4pm
Located in the Historic Anderson House, built in 1814 by Dr. John Anderson, who also built the Bedford Springs Hotel. It served as his home as well as the first bank west of the Susquehanna. The original vault is behind a double door in the Gallery Shop.
