A unique niche in the Bedford County tourist industry is "step-on" guides who provide details and directions for motor coach tours. Three county residents, Richard Claycomb, Debbie Knisely and Rose Worm, spend countless hours researching facts and finding interesting stories about area attractions. During a tour these "step-on" guides provide detailed directions for the motor coach drivers; narratives and commentary relating to the focus of the tour; and share details and fun stories about the sites along the roadside. Possessing vast knowledge and an intense love for the area insures visitors they are treated to many personal insights not offered on typed "canned-fact" tours.

These guides often dress in period costumes (when appropriate). They offer itineraries for groups and companies planning to visit the area. They DO NOT make any type of reservations for lodging; meals, attractions, or entertainment, but can provide recommendations and telephone numbers for all facilities that have a charge.

Typical tour offered by these guides include the Covered Bridges of Bedford County, Progressive Dine Arounds, Brown Bag Gift Tours, Old Bedford Village and Historic Bedford County, Flight 93 and Que Creek Mine Sites, and an Amtrak Railroad Ride Around Horseshoe Curve (see above for a complete list of recommended tours).
